God of Thunder, he wields a hammer. He is brother of Fricka and therefore brother-in-law to the Chief God Wotan. In "Das Rheingold" when the Giants want to take Freya, she calls on her brothers to help her. Donner decides to fight with the Giants, claiming they've felt his blow before, but Wotan stops him. In Act 4 after Fafner departs, he summons a storm to clear the clouds.In Götterdämmerung he has been mentioned, when Gibichungs are confused Brünhilde's accusations to Siegfried and they call him to begin a storm to not listen more them, on the end Valhalla is set alight and the Gods perish. Probably he has his own leitmotiv; we can hear it in "Das Rheingold", when he threats gigants, theme related with him are "thunder".
